Brian Brennan is CEO of Transdev Australia & New Zealand, overseeing 11 transport networks across six cities and more than 271 million passenger trips each year.
Brian brings 25 years of international experience across rail, light rail, tram and bus. His achievements include managing London Bridge and Cannon Street Stations in the UK and leading the development of Sydney and Parramatta Light Rail. Most recently, he led Transdev and John Holland’s successful bid to operate Yarra Trams – the world’s largest tram network – under the Yarra Journey Makers brand.
His leadership centres on people and culture. Brian prioritises the safety, development and wellbeing of Transdev’s 7,000 employees, and is a founding member of the Champions of Change Coalition Rail Group, working to build gender equity and develop the next generation of transport leaders.
Brian serves as a Board Director for Yarra Journey Makers, the Public Transport Association of Australia & New Zealand (PTAANZ) and TrackSAFE Foundation. He is a member of the Monash Institute of Railway Technology’s Advisory Board and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Outside the office, Brian is a committed runner and a regular user of the trams, ferries and buses Transdev operates – a habit that keeps him close to the customer experience and the communities his networks serve. He lives in Sydney with his family.
