Daniela Fontana is the Managing Director of Transdev John Holland Buses, overseeing a network of 470 buses, 185 routes and a team of more than 1,100 staff across Sydney’s CBD and Eastern Suburbs. With over 30 years of experience in the transport sector, Daniela brings deep operational expertise and a strong leadership track record to the role.
Daniela’s passion lies in delivering safe, reliable, and people-first transport – for both customers and employees. She is committed to fostering a strong internal culture, supporting frontline recruitment, and driving innovation across the network, which now carries over 50 million journeys each year.
Having previously led Transit Systems NSW and the State Transit Authority NSW, Daniela understands the scale, complexity and community impact of public transport in Sydney. She’s proud to lead a dedicated team of Journey Makers and to continue shaping services that meet the needs of a growing and diverse customer base.
